- Comprehensive Plan
The document outlines a vision and core tenets for Benbrook, and addresses many key issues, including land use plans and transportation considerations. It also provides clear guidelines for serving our citizens in the areas of public safety, hazard mitigation, economic development, and community facilities. Additionally, the Plan includes some conceptual ideas about what a future downtown area might look like.
The first comprehensive plan was written in 1969, and was updated in 1977; since then, numerous revisions have been made. In early 2019, City Council appointed a citizens’ committee to engage in a full-scale review of the document, and make recommendations. In the process, the committee relied on thoughtful input from citizens, and expressed a vision to "make Benbrook your hometown."
As Benbrook continues to grow, it is our hope that the updated Comprehensive Plan will ensure that our quality of life is not just maintained, but enhanced. You may review the document at the link below. Thank you for helping us Build a Better Benbrook!
