The Benbrook Boulevard/US 377 expansion project is now underway and promises to improve the mobility, safety, and appeal of our busiest highway corridor. During the majority of construction along Benbrook Boulevard/US 377, two lanes of traffic will be maintained in each direction. Occasionally, daytime lane closures and multi-lane closures will be necessary, but most of the construction will be behind barriers, and major intersections will continue to offer left turn lanes.

Due to the unpredictable nature of road construction, status reports can change from day to day, hour to hour, overnight, or as weather conditions, completion timelines and/or contractor operations change. Therefore, we will not be posting reports on lane closures or minor construction activity on a regular basis.

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) maintains a website, DriveTexas.org, which updates the construction status of all TxDOT projects, including Benbrook Boulevard/US 377 and FM 2871.

In addition, the Benbrook Economic Development Corporation contracted with public relations firm, LComm Marketing, to inform and engage residents, visitors, and area businesses during this time of transition. The Building a Better Benbrook campaign is supporting businesses through the construction process by providing regular construction updates, and by creating continued consumer loyalty to shop, eat, and play in Benbrook.

The City of Benbrook and TxDOT are committed to completing this project as quickly and safely as possible. We appreciate your patience as we work toward Building a Better Benbrook.
