The City of Benbrook invites the public to a ribbon-cutting to celebrate the renovation and expansion of the Benbrook Fire Station, 528 Mercedes Street. The event occurs on Saturday, May 4, 2013*, from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
The formal program begins at 1:00 p.m. with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed by a cook-out of hamburgers/hotdogs, a cake, and tours of the new facilities.
“The expansion of our station greatly improves the efficiency of fire personnel, allowing us to continue to provide exceptional emergency services to our citizens,” says Fire Chief Tommy Davis.
Benbrook City Council authorized the $1.9 million expenditure for the renovation and construction to Cooper General Contractors in August 2012. The renovation/expansion project includes additional sleeping quarters to accommodate current and additional personnel, a fitness room, shift officer offices, and a walk-in treatment room.
In a recent citizen survey, Benbrook Fire Department received a ranking of #7 of 94 communities nationwide for “overall good impression”. Join in this community event celebrating the success of the department and the completion of improved facilities designed to meet the needs of the community.
