On Thursday, April 23, Benbrook City Council, the Benbrook Area Chamber of Commerce, Benbrook Industrial Park tenants, citizens, landowners, and business-owners joined the Benbrook Economic Development Corporation (BEDC) in a ribbon-cutting ceremony in celebration of the completed extension of Winbrook Drive and Benbrook Parkway, roadways located within the Benbrook Industrial Park.
The project, funded by the BEDC, also included supplying water, sewer, and electricity to the raw land, and is designed to improve access and promote future commercial development along I-20 frontage in Benbrook.
As part of a land swap agreement with Cassco Land Company, the work to extend Winbrook Drive and Benbrook Parkway began in spring 2014 and includes completing the connection of Winbrook Drive, east of Winscott Road, and extending Benbrook Parkway southward from the Benbrook Industrial Park, intersecting Winbrook Drive and connecting to the I-20 frontage road.
