The City of Benbrook Visitor’s Center, along with the Benbrook Area Chamber of Commerce, the Benbrook Community Center/YMCA, the Benbrook Public Library, the Benbrook Historical Society, and the Benbrook Water Authority, invites you to step back in time by participating in a History Scavenger Hunt. The event is a fun way for individuals, families, or groups to get outdoors, explore our community, and learn more about Benbrook history.
Adults and youth are invited to travel on foot or by car to various local sites of historical interest. Find clues, take photos, learn fun and interesting facts about our community, and enter to win fabulous prizes donated by local Benbrook businesses. Event is not limited to Benbrook residents, all are welcome!
Here’s How
Beginning July 27, pick up a copy of the self-guided Benbrook History Walking Tour map and clue sheet at the Benbrook Visitors Center in City Hall, 911 Winscott Road (Hours 8:00am-5:00pm weekdays). Visit at least five (5) local historical sites listed on the map, then answer five (5) corresponding questions on the clue sheet.
Bring your completed clue sheet to the Visitors Center to enter in a drawing for a chance to win a fabulous prize! Prizes will be awarded to the first drawn entries that have answered all five questions correctly.
The first three names drawn with correct answers will receive the three grand prizes, which include a 32-inch color television, a bicycle with helmet, and a Fitbit activity tracker. Remaining prizes include a back pack, gift card, binoculars, a YMCA family membership, and other items.
