Benbrook, Texas – July 27, 2016
The City of Benbrook is spraying for mosquitoes within a half-mile radius of the 4200 block of Westerly Road. The spray area is generally bounded by Chapin Road to the north; Meadowside Drive to the south; Williams Road to the east; and Twilight Drive S to the west (see map).
City crews will begin spraying at approximately 11:00 PM on Friday evening, July 29, 2016, and conclude by 6:00 AM the following morning, July 30, weather permitting.
The spraying is in response to a positive reading of West Nile Virus in a mosquito found in one of the traps used to obtain samples for testing, as confirmed by Tarrant County Public Health.
The City of Benbrook asks that residents remain indoors during the hours scheduled for spraying. Where possible, pets should be brought indoors as well.
The City of Benbrook would like to remind residents of the importance of taking personal protective measures to safeguard against West Nile Virus. Residents should routinely dump standing water on their property, use repellent, and dress appropriately if outdoors, especially from dusk to dawn when mosquitoes are most active.
