[ARCHIVED] Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Update on Benbrook Boulevard/U.S. 377 (1/18/17)

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) reports the following update on the Benbrook Boulevard/U.S. 377 construction project:

Since last week, progress includes concrete paving on Sproles Drive, west of Benbrook Boulevard/U.S. 377. The new street was paved half at a time. This section of Sproles will open as soon as remaining work, the colored concrete crosswalk and one driveway, is complete.

The contractor paved a small section of Mercedes Drive just west of U.S. 377 with a high-early-strength (HES) concrete in order to maintain access to nearby businesses. Also, concrete paving of the future southbound travel lanes between I-20 and Mercedes occurs tonight and tomorrow night.

Next month, the contractor plans to close Westpark Drive at Benbrook Boulevard/U.S. 377 after the west side section of Sproles has reopened. This closure is needed in order to complete paving and drainage work at that intersection.

Estimated completion of the project is summer 2017.

As always, please drive carefully and adhere to all traffic signs, as your safety is our first priority.
