The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) reports the following update on the Benbrook Boulevard/U.S. 377 construction project:

Since last week, progress includes completion of future westbound lanes on Mercedes Street, west of Benbrook Boulevard/U.S. 377, and future southbound lanes between Vista Way and Lakeway Drive. Installation of color-stamped crosswalks is also ongoing, beginning with the crosswalk at Westpark Drive.

The contractor is also beginning work on construction of a new noise wall between Vista Way and Lakeway Drive. The contractor is currently trimming trees between Vista Way and Lochness Lane in preparation for drilling. There will be additional tree trimming between Lochness Lane and Lakeway Drive in order to install temporary fencing to complete the new noise wall.

The existing wall between Lochness Lane and Lakeway Drive will be removed as early as Monday, April 3. The contractor will place the temporary fencing approximately five feet behind the existing wall to allow room for drilling shafts for construction of the new wall.

Estimated completion of the project is summer 2017.
