Incident details:

On 7/5/2017 at 11:44am, Benbrook Police Officers were dispatched to investigate a shooting in the 200 block of San Angelo Avenue. It was reported that an adult male shot his adult brother. Upon arrival a w/m exited the front door with a gunshot wound to his leg. He was transported to the hospital. One adult brother was deceased in the backyard. The suspect barricaded himself in the house.

Benbrook SWAT and FWPD SWAT arrived on the scene. The suspect was threatening towards officers and himself. There was an exchange of gunfire between the suspect and police, but no one was injured. At about 3:10pm, the suspect was taken in to custody. The suspect was identified as John Lawrence Conroy w/m date of birth of 4/27/1961.
