[ARCHIVED] Benbrook Boulevard/U.S. 377 Construction Update - TXDOT

City Logo

The traffic pattern on southbound Benbrook Boulevard/U.S. 377 approaching Mercedes Street will change tomorrow (8/9) allowing two thru-only lanes at the intersection; this should help alleviate the traffic congestion that has been occurring.

Left turns to eastbound Mercedes Street from southbound U.S. 377 will be prohibited.  Signs will be placed to inform motorists to proceed southbound to the median opening at Davidson Street, where they can make a U-turn and proceed back to Mercedes Street. The contractor is working to expedite construction of the new left-turn lane at Mercedes by early September.

All of the available lanes on Winscott Road at U.S. 377 are now open.  For traffic on westbound Winscott there is now a double left-turn lane to go southbound on U.S. 377 and a dedicated right-turn lane to go northbound on US 377.  This doubles the capacity from the single lane configuration and makes an alternate route for motorists wanting to avoid peak traffic on U.S. 377.

TxDOT appreciates the patience of motorists, and encourages attention to all warning signs within the construction work zone while crews work diligently to complete this work as quickly and as safely as possible.
