Benbrook will hold a Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Collection Event Saturday, Aug. 24, 2019. The trailer will be stationed behind the Benbrook Par 3 Golf Course, in the Dutch Branch Park Complex, off Winscott Road. Signs will be posted along Winscott Road to help guide motorists.
The event will be 9 to 11 a.m., but will end early if the collection trailer is filled. Please bring a driver’s license or Benbrook water bill with you, as proof of Benbrook residency is required.
ITEMS ACCEPTED:
Acids, aerosol cans, antifreeze, batteries (all types), brake fluid, craft and hobby materials, degreasers, drain cleaners, fertilizer, herbicides, household chemicals, light bulbs, motor oil, oil filters, paint, stains, paint thinners, pest strips, pesticides, photo chemicals, pool chemicals, solvents, transmission fluid, and varnishes.
NOT ACCEPTED:
Ammunition, explosives, medical waste, radioactive material (smoke detectors), waste generated by businesses, tires, propane, pharmaceuticals, and butane cylinders. Please note, we can no longer accept old medicines and prescriptions.
Sorry, there will be no document shredding or e-waste collection at this event.
Staff will be available to direct traffic and assist in helping residents unload items. Please drive slowly as you enter the drop-off location.
