[ARCHIVED] Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event is March 14

HHW Event March 2020

The City of Benbrook’s Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) collection event is a safe way to dispose of materials that cannot go in a landfill. This event is free and open to all Benbrook residents. Please bring proof of residency (water bill or driver’s license).

The HHW will be 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, March 14, in the rear parking lot of Dutch Branch Park, near the Benbrook Par 3 Golf Course. Look for the signs on Winscott Road. Please note that the line forms early and the event will conclude once the collection trailer is full.

Items that can be accepted:
Acids, aerosol cans, antifreeze, all batteries, brake fluid, craft and hobby materials, degreasers, drain cleaners, fertilizer, herbicides, household chemicals, light bulbs, motor oil, oil filters, paint/stains, paint thinners, pest strips, pesticides, photo chemicals, pool chemicals, solvents, transmission fluid, varnishes.

Items that CANNOT be accepted at this event: 
Ammunition, explosives, medical waste, radioactive material (smoke detectors), waste generated by businesses, tires, propane, pharmaceuticals, butane cylinders.
