Benbrook City Hall, 911 Winscott Road, which has been closed to the public due to the COVID-19 pandemic, will reopen Friday, May 1. Normal business hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.
The action comes after the press conference Texas Gov. Greg Abbott held earlier this week, where he noted that his stay-at-home order will expire April 30, and presented a plan and an executive order to begin reopening the state on May 1.
City Hall staff and visitors will be required to follow social distancing guidelines, maintaining at least 6 feet of separation between each other.
Benbrook Municipal Court also will reopen to the public. Citizens are reminded that they can pay a fine online, without having to come into City Hall.
Benbrook Public Library, a separate entity from the City, will reopen May 1 with curbside pickup service, and the book drop is open now. The Benbrook Water Authority (BWA), also a separate entity, is currently closed and has not yet announced plans to reopen.
