Bring your electronic waste and old documents to the City of Benbrook E-waste and Shred event on Saturday, June 27, at Dutch Branch Park.
The event takes place 8 a.m. to noon, or until the trucks are full. Please note that the line usually forms early.
For electronic waste, generally speaking, if it can be plugged in, it can be recycled. Common electrical items that can be accepted include:
Computers
| Fax machines
| Washers
| Vacuums
| Refrigerators
|
Printers
| Microwave ovens
| Dryers
| Dishwashers
| Telephones
|
Copiers
| Gaming systems
| Radios
|
|
|
Computer hard drives will be destroyed by a third party. Please note, CRT devices (older TVs and other electronics with glass tubing) and household hazardous waste cannot be accepted at this event.
For document shredding, please limit paper volume to a reasonable household amount; large amounts of business documents cannot be accepted. Paper items must be dry, and boxes of documents cannot contain other items that might clog the shredder, such as CDs, paper clips, credit cards, and other plastic materials.
The event is FREE, but proof of Benbrook residency is required.
Crews will be available to direct traffic and assist in unloading items. The event takes place in the back parking lot behind the Benbrook Community Center/YMCA, 1899 Winscott Road. Please follow the signs along Winscott Road, turn onto Beach Road, and then proceed toward the back parking lot.
