Benbrook residents who are struggling to make their rental payments as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic may be able to receive assistance through a new Tarrant County program.
The Tarrant CARES Rental Assistance Program provides up to three months of assistance to individuals who have suffered a loss of income as a result of the pandemic and are at imminent risk of being evicted.
Applicants will need to provide proof of loss of wages and/or financial hardship, a notice to vacate (if available), and other documents. In addition, the property landlord must be willing to provide information to document the unpaid rent. All funds granted will be paid directly to the landlord.
Assistance is available on a first-come, first-served basis. The funds can be used only for rental payments, and cannot be used to pay fees for water, sewer, or other incidentals.
Tarrant County will make the final determination of eligibility and the amount of assistance provided. Individuals who are not eligible for this program may be referred to another assistance program or organization.
