Governor Abbott held a press conference today to address the state’s ongoing COVID-19 response. The Governor announced that the number of active COVID-19 cases in Texas are reduced since July, and encouraged Texans to continue to practice social distancing, wearing face masks, and keeping hands clean and sanitized.  

He further stated that certain businesses will be allowed to expand occupancy limits to 75% in areas where hospitalization rates for COVID-19 have been under 15% for seven consecutive days.
