Need assistance making essential home repairs? Benbrook homeowners with low-to-moderate incomes may be eligible for Tarrant County’s Homeowner Rehabilitation Program. This program is designed to help struggling homeowners make repairs to their plumbing, roofing, foundation, and more.
Eligibility is based on several factors, including family size and household income (table below). In addition, the home must be valued below $205,000.The Tarrant County Community Development Department administers the program locally. Once eligibility is confirmed, the County will contract with workers to make the authorized repairs. The total household income for everyone over 18 must not exceed the limits listed below:

Additional Homeowner Requirements:
- Own and live in your house for at least one (1) year;
- NOT live in a mobile home, duplex, or flood zone;
- Have clear title to the property;
- Have paid your real estate taxes;
- Be current on your mortgage loan payments (no reverse mortgages); and
- Receiving SSDI, 62+ years old, OR have dependent children living at home under 18.
The program is funded through the Community Development Block Grant and the Home Investment Partnership (HOME). Both are programs of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
