Boil Water Notice Update 11/10/21:
BWA crews have completed the repair of the water main which ruptured overnight near the intersection of Bellaire Dr. and Loop 820. Water pressure should resume to normal levels this evening (Tuesday). A Boil Water Notice is currently in effect for Benbrook Water Authority customers in the general area north of Loop 820, east of Clear Fork (Trinity River). As pressure is restored, BWA crews will be taking water samples, which will be analyzed to ensure the water is safe for consumption.
The Boil Water Notice will remain in effect until sample results, confirming the water is safe, are obtained. Sample results will not be available until Thursday. At that time, a determination regarding the Boil Water Notice status will be made.

Boil Water Notice 11/09/21:
Due to a drop in water pressure resulting from a water main break, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has required the Benbrook Water Authority to notify all AFFECTED customers to boil their water prior to consumption (e.g., washing hands/face, brushing teeth, drinking, etc). Children, seniors, and persons with weakened immune systems are particularly vulnerable to harmful bacteria, and all customers should follow these directions).
Update (2pm 11/9/21): The affected area originally included Mont Del and Meadows West Additions, but has been updated to include additional areas north of Loop 820 and east of Clear Fork (Trinity River) as shown on the map.
To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and ice making should be boiled and cooled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes. The water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes.
In lieu of boiling, individuals may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source for drinking water or human consumption purposes.
When it is no longer necessary to boil the water, the public water system officials will notify customers that the water is safe for drinking water or human consumption purposes.
Once the boil water notice is no longer in effect, the public water system will issue a notice to customers that rescinds the boil water notice in a manner similar to this notice.
Please share this information with all the other people who drink this water, especially those who may not have received this notice directly (for example, people in apartments, nursing homes, schools, and businesses). You can do this by posting this notice in a public place or distributing copies by hand or mail.
BWA crews are in the process of making repairs and once pressure has been restored, will test the water to ensure it is potable (safe to drink) prior to rescinding the Boil Water Notice.
