Ron Sauma, former City Council Member, lost his battle with Covid two years ago.  Ron passionately served on the Benbrook City Council for 18 years. While serving on the City Council, he strongly advocated for the construction of a new animal shelter. He became a 4Paws volunteer in 2001 because of his love for pets, and he enjoyed portraying Santa with the pets in their Christmas pictures. Ron always brought home a dog that he found or one that no one wanted, and they would become part of his family.    

The adoption room at the Benbrook Animal Shelter is named in his honor, the “Ron Sauma Adoption Room”.
