[ARCHIVED] Terminix Scam

On April 9 2014 the residents of a home on Legend Rd. were visited by a white male wearing a green Terminix shirt who said he was there to do an annual inspection. The residents were Terminix customers so they let him in to do his inspection unsupervised. After completing the "inspection", the man left without leaving the residents any record of the visit. The residents later discovered $300.00 cash and a wedding band missing from the home. When they called Terminix, they were told they were not on the schedule for any service that day.

A genuine Terminix technician will ordinarily schedule any service in advance rather than just show up at the door. Since the victims in this instance were Terminix customers and there were no stickers or signs indicating that at the residence, the suspect may be an ex-employee of Terminix with prior knowledge of existing customers. Be suspicious of unscheduled service visits and verify it with Terminix. Call the police if the technician leaves while you're trying to the verify the service. Give a description of the technician and the vehicle if you see one.
