Since the 1940’s, Smokey Bear has shared one timeless message, “Only you can prevent wildfires.” Smokey’s is the longest running public service announcement in U.S. history and has significantly reduced the number of human-caused wildfires. From posters to television and radio spots, Smokey has educated multiple generations on the importance of preventing forest fires and protecting our natural resources.
The Texas A&M Forest Service and the Benbrook Fire Department invite you to join us at the Benbrook Fire Station, 528 Mercedes Street, in celebrating this milestone birthday for one of our most outspoken and beloved characters. Bring the family and take photos with Smokey, sign a birthday card poster, and learn more about fire prevention.
