The 22nd Annual Benbrook Trinity Trash Bash event takes place Saturday, September 20, 2014 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. This annual event offers a volunteer opportunity for Benbrook residents, visitors, groups, and organizations to take part in a fun cleanup party!
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. at the pavilion located beside the concession stand in the back parking lot behind the Benbrook Community Center/YMCA at 1899 Winscott Road. Cleanup begins at 9:00 a.m. Volunteers are assigned specific areas in the park to pick up litter and debris. Gloves and trash bags are provided.
Sponsored by Devon Energy, the event provides volunteers with free t-shirts and fun giveaway items, and everyone is eligible to win door prizes. Again this year, a free hotdog lunch is served by 4 PAWS (Pets Are Worth Saving) volunteers at around 11:00am.
Trinity Trash Bash is an annual volunteer cleanup of the Trinity River and its tributaries. As a member of the Trinity River Environmental Educational Society (T.R.E.E.S.), Benbrook is part of a network of municipalities that participate in this important environmental effort. Each year, approximately 6500 volunteers participate in about 25 events, collected some 335,000 pounds of trash and recyclables.
Your participation in this event ensures the success of Benbrook Trash Bash!
