Garage sales and estate sales do not require a permit, but residents must follow these rules:
No more than two sales on the same premises in any one calendar year.
One garage sale sign may be placed on private property, avoiding the public right-of-way (approximately 10 feet from the curb). Additional signs may be placed on a neighbors property with owners permission, again avoiding the right-of-way. Signs placed on public street lights, utility poles, trees, hydrants, medians, or city-owned property, or street signs are prohibited and may be removed by City officials. Signs must be removed immediately upon the completion of the sale.
Sales are held by a person who does not hold himself out as engaging in, or does not habitually engage in, the business of selling such property at retail.
No new merchandise acquired solely for the purpose of resale may be sold at the garage/estate sale.
Sales may last no more than three consecutive calendar days.
