StormReady communities are better-prepared to notify citizens and save lives from the affects of severe weather through advanced planning, education, and awareness. No community is storm-proof, but
StormReady practices can help save lives and property.
Weather Policy
The City of Benbrook follows the North Central Texas Council of Governments weather policy, which defines severe weather as a storm with the potential of producing hail at least one inch (1”) in diameter and/or sustained winds in excess of 70 miles per hour. When these conditions occur, the outdoor sirens in Benbrook will be sounded, and
CodeRED, a telephone notification system, will be activated to inform citizens of impending danger.
